Resolution to Authorize the Execution of City Contracts without the Signature of the City Administrative Officer/City Administrator.

WHEREAS, City contracts have been executed by the Mayor and City Administrative Officer and countersigned by the Comptroller as required by Section 62.09(10)(f) of the Wisconsin Statutes and approved as to form by the City Attorney as required by Section 62.16(12) of the Wisconsin Statutes and City Policy 802; and,
 
WHEREAS, the position of City Administrative Officer has been replaced by the position of City Administrator; and,
 
WHEREAS, the City Administrator position is currently vacant; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is necessary and convenient to the City to continue to have contracts executed during the time the City Administrator position is vacant;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that, except where a specific City official has been designated to execute a contract, all City contracts are to be executed by the Mayor (or Acting Mayor), countersigned by the Comptroller, and approved as to form by the City Attorney.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon the filling of the City Administrator position, the City Administrator's signature shall be required on all contracts in addition to those of the Mayor, Comptroller and City Attorney unless the Common Council specifically authorizes another City official to execute a contract.
