Resolution regarding approval of Interim Policy on Pay Increases for Promotion.
Body
WHEREAS, the City's Transition Team has been working for several months on many policies to replace union contractual provisions; and,
WHEREAS, all the new policies will be presented in the next couple months for the Common Council to approve; and,
WHEREAS, in the meantime, union contractual provisions and memorandums of understanding are continuing until the new policies are in place; and,
WHEREAS, a unique promotional situation developed in the Public Works Department that necessitated an early approval of an Interim Policy on Pay Increases for Promotion; and,
WHEREAS, the Interim Policy is consistent with the general promotion and philosophy of what the final policy on this subject is likely to be.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the attached Memorandum to File on the subject of the Interim Policy on Pay Increases for Promotion be and is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Interim Policy shall be non-precedent setting and be in effect until the final policy on this subject is presented and approved.
