Resolution Authorizing and Directing the City Engineer and Other Appropriate City Officials to Obtain Permanent Limited Easements for the Installation of Sanitary Sewer Between 84th Street and 82nd Street South of West Greenfield Avenue.

WHEREAS, the West Allis Common Council has budgeted for the installation of a 24" sanitary sewer as part of a project to alleviate flooding along Walker Street from 77th to 72nd Streets; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department, after working about 18 months for approval of the project from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, has obtained it; and,
WHEREAS, the first phase of the project, which is the reconstruction of the sanitary and storm sewers under Walker Street, has been awarded and started this year; and,
WHEREAS, construction of this sanitary sewer will require tunneling under five parcels described on File Drawings Y-1137, Y-1138, Y-1139, Y-1140 and Y-1141 as drafted by the City Engineer's Office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City Engineer and other appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized and directed to obtain the necessary permanent limited easements specified and any other easements, documents or permits needed to construct the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer is directed to prepare the plans and specifications, receive bids and present those bids to the Board of Public Works for contract award.
