Resolution authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to enter into a Letter of Agreement between the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of West Allis regarding Adaptive Signal Control Operations and Maintenance at ten traffic signals throughout the City.

Body
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is reconstructing the Zoo Interchange (the Project) and desires to provide traffic congestion mitigation during construction. As part of that mitigation WisDOT desires to install adaptive traffic signal controls (ASC) at the following intersections which are owned and operated by the City of West Allis (City):

1. National Ave. & Cleveland Ave.
2. National Ave. & 102nd St.
3. National Ave. & Lincoln Ave.
4. National Ave. & 92nd St.
5. National Ave. & Becher St./90th St.
6. National Ave. & 84th St.
7. Becher St. & 92nd St.
8. Lincoln Ave. & 92nd St.
9. Lincoln Ave. & 90th St.
10. 84th St. & Lapham St.

WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City acknowledge and agree that the ASC technology is critical to managing traffic during the Zoo Interchange reconstruction project and that failure to manage the ASC could result in traffic management issues up to and including traffic management failures within and around the Project including within the City of West Allis.

WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be responsible for all material, equipment, labor, training and incidental costs associated with maintaining, operating, modifying or removing the ASC technology at these locations including but not limited to cameras, mounting brackets, camera cabling and all ASC components within the traffic signal cabinet.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a Letter of Agreement with the Wisconsin Department...
