Resolution Approving the Proposal from Dorner Company to install a new valve at the Water Reservoir in an amount not to exceed $16,000.
Body
WHEREAS, a main pump at the water reservoir is out of service due to a broken 14 inch valve; and,
WHEREAS, this leaves only two currently working main pumps at the reservoir; and,
WHEREAS, the Water Department used the Mayor's emergency purchase powers to order the valve because of the long lead time to obtain it; and,
WHEREAS, with the valve on the site, the Water Department obtained a quote from Dorner Company for installation; and,
WHEREAS, the lack of qualified installers makes this work unsuitable to bid and Dorner Company is the usual installer for these types of valves for the supplier.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City West Allis that the proposal from Dorner Company is hereby accepted in an amount not to exceed $16,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing/Central Services division be and is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order for the aforesaid service and the Director of Public Works./City Engineering is authorized to sign and execute the proposal with funding from the appropriate Water Department budget account or accounts to pay for the work.
