Resolution relative to determination of Special Use Permit to establish JRS Jewelry Repair Shop, a retail jewelry store including second hand sales, to be located within a portion of the existing multi-tenant retail building at 2749 S. 108 St.

WHEREAS, Gladys Sandino, JRS Jewelry Repair Shop, LLC d/b/a JRS Jewelry duly filed with the City Administrative Officer-Clerk/Treasurer an application for a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.43(2) and Sec. 12.16 of the Revised Municipal Code, to establish a jewelry repair shop, a retail jewelry store including second hand sales and a pawnshop within a portion of the existing multi-tenant retail building at 2749 S. 108 St.; and,

WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on March 6, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:

1. The applicant, Gladys Sandino, d/b/a JRS Jewelry, resides at 3616 S. 82 St. Milwaukee, WI 53220.

JRS Jewelry has another location at 7239 W. Greenfield Ave. West Allis, WI 53214.

2. The applicant proposes to establish a jewelry repair shop, a retail jewelry store (new and used sales, purchases and trades of diamonds, gemstones, silver, gold, coins, jewelry and watches) including second hand sales and a pawnshop. Custom design and repair of jewelry will also be performed on site. The proposed lease space is approximately 1,500 sq. ft. within a portion of the existing multi-tenant commercial property at 2749 S. 108 St., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:
