Title
Resolution relative to the selection of a contractor and approving the execution of a contract for the demolition and construction of three (3) single-family homes with Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds.

Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council, through Resolution No. R-2010-0130, authorized the use of $660,000 in NSP funds for the acquisition/rehabilitation/demolition/new construction/resale/direct homeownership assistance of four (4) foreclosed-upon single-family homes and the staff time and resources to deliver the projects; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing/Central Services Division has reported that it duly advertised a request for proposal for the demolition of existing structures, asbestos abatement, renovation/construction of garages, landscaping, and the construction of three single family homes through the NSP program; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Development will oversee the demolition and construction of the three (3) single-family homes;

WHEREAS, bids are due and will be evaluated on Friday, June 11, 2010 and a recommendation will be given to the Common Council at its meeting on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis as follows:

1. That the selection of a contractor and approval of the execution of a contract for the demolition and construction of three (3) single-family homes with Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds be and is hereby accepted.

2. That the Director of the Department of Development or his designee, be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid work.

3. That the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the Contract, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supp...
