Title

Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to enter into an agreement with Interstate Pump & Tank, Inc. to install a new card reader assembly and external overfill alarm and relay module for the fuel facilities at the Public Works Yard in an amount not to exceed $20,000.

Body

Whereas, the existing card reader is out of date and availability of replacement parts is almost non-existent; and, 

 

Whereas, the City has maintained and invested heavily in fuel facilities at the Public Works Yard over the years; and,

 

Whereas, the facility needs an upgraded overfill alarm to meet Federal and State regulations; and,

 

Whereas, the Department of Public Works believes that maintaining these fuel facilities is in the best interests of all City departments.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that up to $20,000 is hereby approved to install a new card reader assembly and overfill alarm at the Public Works Yard.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Interstate Pump & Tank for services to supply and install the card reader and that the funds will be advanced from the contingency fund with the understanding that between salary and other saving that will be realized throughout the year will more than offset this request. At the end of the year those funds that have been advanced will be repaid to the contingency fund.
