Resolution approving a Memorandum of Understanding to Participate in the Milwaukee County/Waukesha County Consortium for Emergency Public Health Preparedness.

WHEREAS, the Center for Disease Control is annually awarding funding to the State of Wisconsin for Emergency Public Health Preparedness.
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin provides grants to local health departmens for Emergency Public Health Preparedness.
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Memorandum is to create a regional consortium to strengthen the competence, capability, coordination, and readiness of the public health community, and to enhance coordination amongst health care and public safety agencies in preparing for, responding to and managing public health events affecting Milwaukee County and Waukesha County.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that a memorandum of understanding between the West Allis Health Department and the Milwaukee County/Waukesha County Consortium for Emergency Public Health Preparedness, a copy of which memorandum of understanding is attached, hereto and made part of, is hereby approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of West Allis hereby authorize and directs the Health Commissioner to sign the aforesaid memorandum of understanding.
