Resolution accepting the proposal of Barrier Security Systems LLC to expand and upgrade the City's Keri Electronic Door Lock System for an amount not to exceed $20,270.18

Body
WHEREAS, the City uses the Keri Electronic Door Lock system to control and manage access to various city buildings; and

WHEREAS, staff has recommended the expansion of the electronic door lock system to control and manage access to several secure areas within City Hall, including the IT Department, Communications Department, as well as to conference rooms, Common Council Chambers, Training, Multi-Purpose room, and other areas; and

WHEREAS, staff has recommended the expansion of the electronic door lock system at the Library to provide a secure entry for staff when the public entrance is unavailable; and

WHEREAS, the expansion of the electronic door lock system will provide a more efficient and secure system to manage and monitor building access; and

WHEREAS, Cities and Villages Mutual Insurance Company (CVMIC) will reimburse the City for 50% of the cost of the door lock upgrade, up to a maximum of $10,000, through its Risk Reduction Grant Program; and

WHEREAS, the proposal from Barrier Security Systems LLC was the lowest cost option received from multiple vendors; and

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Barrier Security Systems LLC be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated April 26, 2017, submitted by Barrier Security Systems LLC for furnishing materials, software, and training related to expanding the City's Keri Electronic Door Lock system for an amount not to exceed $20,270.18 be and is hereby accepted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the IT Department be and is hereby authorized to coordinate and complete the door lock improvements with Barrier Security Systems LLC.
