Resolution relative to the modification of the organizational and reporting structure of the City of West Allis and amending the City of West Allis Policies and Procedures Manual Policy No. 404, Recruitment and Hiring Process for Executive/Managerial/Deputy-Assistant Service Positions.

WHEREAS, Charter Ordinance No. 22 relating to the Selection and Tenure of the City Attorney was passed by the Common Council on August 7, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis (“City”) Mayor and Common Council are committed to work towards continued efficiencies and cost savings in operations while improving the delivery of coordinated services through focused objectives, business plans and strategies, collaboration, and continuous improvement; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Common Council have determined that it is in the City’s best interest to modify the organization and reporting structure of the City to have the City Attorney position appointed by the Common Council based on the recommendation of the City Administration at the conclusion of the current term of office (April 30, 2020).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Policy No. 404, Recruitment and Hiring Process for Executive/Managerial/Deputy-Assistant Service Positions and the organizational chart are approved as attached.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is authorized and directed to include the amended Policy No. 404 in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual and distribute said policy to all departments, divisions, and offices.
