Resolution authorizing the submittal to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development of a Community Planning Challenge Grant Application in the amount of $175,000 for a Citywide Zoning Code Review.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis (the "City") recognizes the importance of zoning in order to attract development and to develop a modern city that incorporates various housing choices and land uses; and,
WHEREAS, in this action the City has declared its intent to complete the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Planning Challenge Grant activities described in the application if awarded funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City will maintain records documenting all expenditures made during the Grant period; and,
WHEREAS, the City will allow employees from HUD to inspect the grant documents and contracts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of West Allis requests funds and assistance available from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development of a Community Planning Challenge Grant for a citywide zoning code review.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City allocates the 20% match from the Community Development Block Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Development or his designee, is hereby authorized to act on the behalf of the City to execute and deliver the necessary grant application documents.
