Resolution approving an amendment to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for the creation of a S. 60 St. Gateway Project.   
 
Body
WHEREAS, the northern entrance to the City of West Allis, located at S. 60 St, is experiencing a revitalization through the redevelopment of the former Sam's Club as Renaissance Center, Hank Aaron Trail bridge, and reconstruction of S. 60 St.; and,
WHEREAS, the creation of the project is form a distinctive and iconic entrance feature along S. 60 St. that will welcome visitors and delineate a positive image of the neighborhood and district, and;
WHEREAS, the project activity is eligible for Community Development Block Grant funds as it fulfills Housing and Urban Development 's(HUD) national objective to assist low-to moderate individuals or area; and,
 
WHEREAS, said project funds will be used for design and construction of a gateway entrance feature to the community; and,
 
WHEREAS,  Director of Development has recommended approval of this project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that it hereby approves an amendment to the Community Development Block Grant Program, Annual Action Plan for FY 2010, creating the S. 60 St. Gateway Project with a budget not to exceed $75,000.  
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funding for the S. 60 St. Gateway Project be made available through a reduction to the following program:
$75,000 from the Contingency Fund
