Title
An Ordinance to Repeal Subsection 1.08(7)(c) and Create Subsection 1.08(9) of the Revised Municipal Code Relating to Denial of Issuance of License or Permit Due to Non-Payment of Taxes and to Include Non-Payment of Forfeitures.
Body
The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:
PART I. Subsection 1.08(7)(c) of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby repealed.
PART II. Subsection 1.08(9) of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby created to read:
1.08 TAX COLLECTION.

(9) Licenses and Permits to be Withheld for Non-Payment.
(a) No City license or permit shall be issued unless the applicant shall have first settled any delinquent real and personal property tax obligation owed to the City at the time the license or permit is to be issued.
(b) No City license or permit shall be issued unless the applicant shall have first settled any outstanding forfeiture owed to the City at the time the license or permit is to be issued pursuant to Section 66.0115, Wis. stat.
(c) Renewal applicants shall be permitted to continue operating under their license or permit until afforded a hearing before the License and Health Committee, if applicable, on the issue.
PART III. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
PART IV. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
