Resolution relative to accepting the sole source proposal of Baycom for upgrading the Police Department 911 System for a total cost of $203,700.
Body
WHEREAS, the Information Technology and Communications Department has received a proposal for providing an upgrade for the 911 System for the Police Department of the City of West Allis; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Baycom be accepted; and,
WHEREAS, the Information Technology and Communications Department has determined that this contract is inappropriate for competitive selection because the current system and vendor have already developed interfaces between our dispatch consoles, the City’s MITEL phone system, our dispatch software and our voice and radio recording system.
WHEREAS, the funding for this system will come from the Reserve-Designated for Capital Accumulation Account 100-0000-345-0500.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal submitted by Baycom for providing an upgrade to the 911 System for a total net sum of $203,700 be and is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an amount of $205,000 be transferred from the reserve account 100 0000-345-0500 to the Information Technology capital equipment account 100-1101-517-7003.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Information Technology and Communications Department be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid equipment.
