Resolution relative to determination of Special Use Application to establish a day care facility within the existing building located at 5401 W. Burnham St., submitted by Shontina Gladney, Come Grow with Me Day Care.

WHEREAS, Shontina Gladney, d/b/a Come Grow with Me Day Care, duly filed with the City Administrative Officer, Clerk/Treasurer an application for a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.16 and Sec. 12.41(2) of the Revised Municipal Code, to replace the former tavern with a day care facility within the existing building located at 5401 W. Burnham St.; and
WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on April 19, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:
1. The applicant, Shontina Gladney, d/b/a Come Grow with Me Day Care, has offices at 7601 W. Becher St., West Allis, Wisconsin 53219.
2. The applicant has a valid offer to lease the subject property at 5401 W. Burnham St., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:
All the land of the owner being located in the Southwest ΒΌ of Section 2, Township 6 North, Range 21 East, City of West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, described as follows:
Lots 1 and 2 in Block 1 in the McGeoch Meadows Subdivision.

Said land being located at 5401 W. Burnham St.
3. The applicant has proposed to convert the former tavern to a 7,800 square foot day care facility.
4. The intent of use for Shontina Gladney, d/b/a Come Grow with Me Day Care, is to establish a day care facility for approximately 114 children.
