Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to temporarily close 109th, 110th, 111th, 111pl, and 112th at Theo Trecker Way.
Body
WHEREAS, unlawful vehicle cruising as continued to be a serious issue in this area; and,
 
WHEREAS, a number of solutions have been proposed and/or implemented over the years with little positive effect; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has recently looked into a number permanent and temporary options for closing these streets to through traffic at Theo Trecker Way; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department, along with the District aldermen, have agreed to try a less costly, temporary closing for 2013 to determine its effectiveness prior to long term, more costly closing options and,
 
WHEREAS, the intent is to close 109th and 110th Streets as soon as possible and allowing for, after consulting with the District aldermen, the possibility of closing 111th, 111pl and 112th sometime in 2013.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City West Allis authorizes the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to close these subject streets and report back to the Common Council at the appropriate time the impacts of the closings.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is directed and authorized to use the appropriate budget account or accounts to pay for the work up to $6,000.
