Resolution authorizing change of the polling place for the First Ward of the First Aldermanic District from Roosevelt School to Liberty Heights Park Field House.
Body
WHEREAS, Roosevelt School is the current voting location for Ward 1 of the First Aldermanic District; and,
WHEREAS, the facilities at Roosevelt School are sometimes crowded and the building is not fully accessible which does not meet the requirements set forth in the Help America Vote Act of 2002; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move the polling place to another location; and,
WHEREAS, Liberty Heights Park Field House is located very close to the First Ward of the First Aldermanic District and can be accommodated as a voting place with minimal preparation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the polling place for the First Ward of the First Aldermanic District shall be changed from Roosevelt School, 932 S. 60 St., to Liberty Heights Park Field House, 1540 S. 62 St., and said location is hereby designated as the polling place for the First Ward of the First Aldermanic District, effective with the February, 2006 Spring Primary and meeting the polling place accessibility requirement of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 prior to January 1, 2006.
