Resolution to Set the Court Costs for Municipal Court Actions.

WHEREAS, Section 2.19(8)(b) of the West Allis Revised Municipal Code provides for payment of the deposit amount plus any costs applicable by law; and,
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Act 54 provides for an increase in the costs allowed in Section 814.65(1), Wis. Stats. from twenty-three dollars ($23.00) to twenty-eight dollars ($28.00); and,
WHEREAS, the costs of policing, legal staff and court staff have increased.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the maximum amount allowed for costs on municipal citations shall hereinafter be applied to each citation issued by a West Allis Police Officer as said maximum amount is hereafter amended by statute.
