Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to contract with The Garland Company, Inc. for emergency roof repairs at Fire Station No. 2 in the amount of $12,425.

Whereas, The Garland Company, Inc. has been a long time roof consultant for West Allis; and,
Whereas, after visual investigation, it was determined that the sealant was inappropriately applied so that water was actually being trapped; and,
Whereas, an opening was made and a water test was conducted; and,
Whereas, it was found that the water could enter the cavity between the backup wall and brick masonry veneer and immediately flowed into the interior spaces within the building through defective details within the flashing system; and,
Whereas, emergency repairs to the roof need to be done in order to minimize further damage to the interior of the building.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that up to $12,425 is hereby approved to be funded thought the appropriate City account.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement for roof repairs with The Garland Company, Inc.
