An Ordinance to Repeal Subsection 9.11(4)(e) and to Amend Subsection 9.11(4)(c) of the Revised Municipal Code Relating to Licensing for Taxicabs.

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:
 
PART I.      Subsection 9.11(4)(e) of the Revised Municipal Code is hereby repealed.
 
PART II.      Subsection 9.11(4)(c) of the Revised Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:            
9.11       TAXICABS.

(4)      Licenses Required.

(c)       Limitation on number of licenses. The number of taxicab operator licenses issued, pursuant to Section 9.11(4)(a), shall be limited to six (6).  The number of vehicles licensed to operate as taxicabs and issued taxicab license plates, pursuant to Section 9.11(8), shall be limited to twenty-six (26).  Licenses which are in existence as of the date of adoption of this ordinance may continue to be renewed.  Any license that is not renewed shall not be issued to any other operator or taxicab with the goal of eventually eliminating such licenses through attrition.

PART III.      All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
 
PART IV.      This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
