Resolution of Commendation for Steven D. Bane.
Body
WHEREAS, Steve Bane, Fire Chief, retired from office on March 1, 2017, after more than 32 years of public service, having served as the Fire Chief for the City of West Allis since 2013; and
WHEREAS, Steve received his Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis on Industrial Labor Relations in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an Associate's Degree in Fire Science in 1991 from Milwaukee Area Technical College; and
WHEREAS, during his career, Steve has served the citizens of West Allis in many different capacities including Fire Fighter, Paramedic, Equipment Operator, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief and finally as Fire Chief; and
WHEREAS, Steve possesses an outstanding number of professional certifications in firefighting, EMS, and emergency systems management, and his professional experience includes serving on numerous West Allis Fire Department committees and participating in numerous City of West Allis community projects; and
WHEREAS, Steve contributed to the development and implementation of the City's Mobile Integrated Healthcare/Community Paramedic program which has improved the quality of one-on-one personal healthcare to citizens of West Allis; and
WHEREAS, Steve served as a member of the Milwaukee County Emergency Medical Services Council and director of the State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, Steve is deserving of special commendation for his many contributions to his profession and to making West Allis a better place to live and work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Steve Bane, Fire Chief, be and is hereby specially commended for his dedication and service to the citizens of West Allis and congratulates him for a job well done.
