Title

Resolution relative to the transfer of $42,000 from the City's Contingency Fund to the Fire Department's Capital Equipment Account for securing the remaining funds needed to purchase two Fire Department medium-sized ambulances in 2011.

Body

WHEREAS, the West Allis Fire Department is in need of two new medium-sized ambulances to replace two existing ambulances; and,

WHEREAS, the Fire Department budget does not have sufficient funding to purchase the two said vehicles due to the $100,000 reduction of funding in the 2011 Capital Equipment Account Budget; and,

WHEREAS, there is an opportunity to save over $72,000 over the next two years by purchasing one ambulance in 2011 and one ambulance in 2012 through a 2010 price guarantee on both vehicles if purchased now.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $42,000 be and is hereby approved for transfer from the Contingency Fund to the Fire Department Capital Equipment Account for the purchase of two new medium-sized ambulances.
