Title

Resolution authorizing and directing the City Engineer to pay for sanitary sewer lateral repairs at 2144 S. 83 Street in the amount of $32,284.85.

Body

WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has a long standing policy of the City's responsibility for making repairs to sanitary sewer laterals from the point of connection to the main sanitary sewer line up through the riser connection; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has determined that the sanitary sewer lateral at 2135 South 110^th Street failed based on field observations; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has reviewed the invoices submitted for the repair work in the amount of $34,408.26 and has determined that some of the invoices were related to work done on the property owner's interior 4 inch plumbing; and,

WHEREAS, the work done on the interior plumbing was disallowed because that is not the City's responsibility; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to make fair payment for the repair work in the amount of $32,284.85 from Account #510-3803-536-6102.
