An Ordinance To Create Section 14.58(5) Of The West Allis Revised Municipal Code Relating To Bond Requirements For Electrical Contractors

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:
PART I. Section 14.58(5) of the Revised Municipal Code is hereby created to read:
CHAPTER 14 ELECTRICAL CODE.

14.58 ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS LICENSE.
(5) Surety Bond.
(a) Beginning with the licensing year 2005/2006, and each licensing period thereafter, before a license is issued, the applicant shall also file with the building inspection department a bond in the sum of five thousand and 00/100 dollars ($5,000), guaranteeing that the contractor will perform in accordance with all state laws and regulations, all ordinances of the city, and manufactures installation specifications.
(b) The bond shall extend for the same period for which the license is issued and shall not be cancelled except on thirty days (30) written notice to the building inspection department, in person or by first class mail.
(c) All bonds required in this section shall be approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney before the same shall be accepted by the building inspection department.
PART II. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
PART III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
