Resolution of Commendation for Dean Puschnig, Chief of Police.
WHEREAS, Dean Puschnig, Chief of Police, will retire from office effective May 2, 2008, after 26 years of service to the City of West Allis; and,
WHEREAS, prior to his employment with the City of West Allis, Chief Puschnig served his country with honor, courage and commitment as a member of the United States Marine Corps from August 1973 to January 1977; and,
WHEREAS, during his career, Chief Puschnig has served the citizens of West Allis as a Crime Prevention Officer (1987), Crime Prevention Sergeant (1990), Lieutenant of Crime Prevention (1990), Captain of Police (1997), Inspector of Police (1998) and Chief of Police (2000); and,
WHEREAS, Chief Puschnig's leadership has enhanced the quality of life throughout the community by advocating fair and unbiased law enforcement, protection of life and property and fostering community partnerships; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Puschnig plans to continue his service to his country by serving as an employee of the United States Attorney General - Milwaukee Office; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Puschnig is deserving of special commendation for his contributions to the community and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Dean Puschnig, Chief of Police, be and is hereby specially commended for his dedication and service to the citizens of West Allis and congratulations for a job well done.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby extends to Chief Puschnig, his wife Judy and his entire family its best wishes for a long, prosperous, and healthy retirement.
Let this Resolution be entered in the official minutes of the Common Council and a certified copy go forth to Dean Puschnig.
