Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to enter into an agreement with Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) to receive funding through their Green Solutions Program in the amount of $73,555 for the installation of Green Infrastructure in the proposed West Durham Avenue reconstruction.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis (the "City") recognizes the importance of the use of Green Infrastructure for managing storm water in a sustainable manner; and,
WHEREAS, in this action the City has declared its intent to work with MMSD on this Green Infrastructure project to install pervious pavers to capture and retain stormwater as part of the installation of a new municipal roadway; and,
WHEREAS, the MMSD will provide funding not to exceed $73,555 for the installation of the pervious pavement through their Green Solutions Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City will maintain records documenting all expenditures made during the green infrastructure installation; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of West Allis accepts the funding from MMSD for the installation of pervious pavers in West Durham Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is hereby directed and authorized to enter into an agreement with MMSD to receive funding through their Green Solutions Program in the amount of $73,555 for the installation of Green Infrastructure in the proposed West Durham Avenue reconstruction and to perform the work in compliance with the funding requirements and intent.
