Resolution amending City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual Policy No. 1484, Clothing, Tool and Other Allowances

WHEREAS, Policy No. 1484, Clothing, Tool and Other Allowances, was originally adopted by the Common Council on December 18, 2012, amended on June 6, 2017, and June 4, 2019; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend said policy at this time to implement a Safety Shoe Program for regular, benefitted Department of Public Works employees to mitigate slips/trips/falls injuries and toe/foot injuries; and
WHEREAS, this new initiative was part of the 2019 Budget, adopted on November 20, 2018, and is in alignment with Strategic Goals 4-1 “promotes data-driven decision-making processes”, 4-2 “operation innovations to determine how the City can provide the same level of service differently to maintain or reduce costs”, and 5-5 “develop and implement ongoing operational analysis/audit/alternative service delivery options/organizational structure analysis”.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Policy No. 1484, Clothing, Tool and Other Allowances, is approved as presented in the attached copy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is authorized and directed to include the amended Policy No. 1484 in the City’s Policies & Procedures Manual and distribute said policy to all departments, divisions, and offices.
