Resolution Approving an Increase in the Sanitary Sewer User Charge - City Portion

WHEREAS, Section 1.07(4)(e) authorizes the Common Council to revise sanitary sewer user charges, as necessary, to insure that the system generates adequate revenues to pay the cost of operation and maintenance, including replacement of the Sanitary Sewer Collection System; and,
WHEREAS, the 2012 budget, approved by the Common Council on November15, 2011, requires an increase in the sanitary sewer user charge to pay the cost of operation and maintenance, including replacement of the Sanitary Sewer Collection System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that an increase of 12 cents per ccf (hundred cubic feet) in the sanitary sewer user charges from $1.41 per ccf (hundred cubic feet) of water used to $1.53 per ccf of water used. The minimum quarterly charge is increased from $14.10 per quarter to $15.30 per quarter. This rate increase is hereby approved, said increase to be effective January 1, 2012.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Manager be and is hereby directed to notify each user of the Sanitary Sewer Collection System of the aforesaid rate increase as provided in Section 1.07(4)(f) of the Revised Municipal Code.
