Resolution relative to determination of Special Use Permit for Our Town Thrift Store, a proposed second-hand article retail store, to be located at 8104 W. National Ave.

WHEREAS, Peter Weis, d/b/a Blue Collar Marketing, Inc., duly filed with the City Administrative Officer-Clerk/Treasurer an application for a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.41(2) and Sec. 12.16 of the Revised Municipal Code, to establish a second hand article retail store within existing commercial property located at 8104 W. National Ave.; and,
WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on September 17, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:
1. The applicant, Peter Weis, Our Town Thrift Store, LLC, d/b/a Blue Collar Marketing, Inc., resides at 15215 W. Dover Hill Lane, New Berlin, WI 53151.
2. The applicant proposes to establish a secondhand article retail store offering new and used articles, including collectibles, electronics, antiques, appliances, clothing, entertainment items, furniture, household items and yard equipment. The proposed retail floor space is approximately 3,600 sq. ft. on the first floor of the building, with an additional 3,600 sq. ft. in the basement used for storage, at the existing commercial property located at 8104 W. National Ave., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:
All that land of the owner being located in the Northeast ΒΌ of Section 4, Township 6 North, Range 21 East, City of West Allis, Milwaukee County, State of Wisconsin describes as follows:
Lot 23 in Block 6 of the State Avenue Land Co's Subdivision.
