Resolution relative to name the baseball field at Liberty Heights Park, Doug Johnson Field

WHEREAS, Douglas S. Johnson will retire on January 6, 2001, from his position as Director of the Recreation Department of the School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee, et al.; and,
WHEREAS, Doug Johnson is a life long resident of the community and has worked for the Recreation Department for twenty-seven (27) years, beginning his employment as a Recreational Supervisor at Washington Playground (since renamed Liberty Heights Park); and,
WHEREAS, Doug Johnson has planned and implemented many popular recreational activities for children and adults and has been active in many organizations in the community; and,
WHEREAS, Doug Johnson has worked hard to promote and develop the expansion and upgrading of recreational facilities in the community, including the recent renovation of Liberty Heights Park; and,
WHEREAS, Doug Johnson is deserving of special accommodation and recognition for his long and dedicated work on behalf of the residents of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the baseball field at Liberty Heights Park be and is hereby named and designated Doug Johnson Field in honor of Douglas S. Johnson.
