Resolution to provide a grant to Urban Joe Café for the design and development of a parklet using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in an amount up to $2,000.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis is supportive of projects that increase opportunities for innovative public space, public beautification and business growth; and,
WHEREAS, parklets are aesthetic enhancements to the streetscape that provide economical solutions to the need for increased public space; and,
WHEREAS, parklets reflect the City's commitment to encouraging improvements of the pedestrian realm and the creation of great streets, and catalyze vitality in the city's commercial districts; and,
WHEREAS, the grant will be used to assist the development of a parklet for customers of the Urban Joe Café.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that a grant be provided to the Urban Joe Café for the design and construction of a parklet in an amount up to $2,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funds shall be allocated from the Community Development Block Grant Program.
