Resolution approving a Substantial Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2008 Consolidated Action Plan of the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).
Body
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) informed the City of West Allis that under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that the City is eligible to receive $574,434 in Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) funds and $375,485 in Community Development Block Grant Recovery (CDBG-R); and,
WHEREAS HUD regulations relative to HPRP and CDBG-R funds require a citizen participation process and comment period and that the City complete a substantial amendment; and,
WHEREAS, to satisfy HUD requirements, the Block Grant Committee has conducted a public hearing and has recommended on April 30, 2009 to approve the substantial amendment and plans; and,
WHEREAS, the regulations require that the proposed program be published; and,
WHEREAS, appropriate communications and application forms are required to be completed and submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to secure the City's Community Development Entitlement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Substantial Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2008 Consolidated Action Plan of the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) (copy attached herein and made a part thereof) is hereby adopted and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and submit the necessary application and supporting documentation on behalf of the City to secure the 2008 Community Development Entitlement.
