Resolution Requesting Emergency Funding for a Temporary Chiller for City Hall Supplied by Johnson Controls in the Amounts of $8,708 for Installation and a Monthly Rental Fee of $14,995.
Body
WHEREAS, the chiller which air conditions City Hall unexpectedly broke down; and,
 
WHEREAS, the timely repairs could not be made to the broken unit; and,
 
WHEREAS, without proper air conditioning the working conditions for City Hall staff and visitors would be almost unbearable along with possible damage to equipment; and,
 
WHEREAS, working with representatives from Johnson Controls, a temporary chiller was located in Wisconsin and arrangements were made to install the unit in a timely basis: and,
 
WHEREAS, Section 2.682, Emergency Purchase, of the City of West Allis Revised Municipal Code, empowers the Mayor to declare an emergency and to authorize any Department Head to purchase equipment, supplies or other services that are necessary because of that emergency; and,
 
WHEREAS, after consulting with the Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Public Works/City Engineer, the Mayor approved the emergency rental of a temporary chiller for City Hall and installation thereof.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City West Allis confirms and authorizes the expenditure of funds for the rental unit until such time as it is determined that it is not needed and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is directed and authorized to use the appropriate budget account or accounts to pay for the unit.
