Title

Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to extend the professional services contract with SEH for another 5 years for general maintenance of the 116th & Rogers elevated water tank in an amount not to exceed $75,000.

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has identified the need to provide for general maintenance of the City's 1.5 million gallon elevated water tank at South 116 Street and West Rogers Street; and,

 

WHEREAS, in 2007 staff prepared and subsequently advertised for proposals for the engineering services associated with the complete painting, maintenance and inspection of the tower over a five year period; and,

 

WHEREAS, following a review of submitted proposals, then Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) was selected as the firm that could best address the needs of the Department as set forth in the Request For Proposals; and,

 

WHEREAS, staff has been satisfied with the services provided by SHE and recommends that the current agreement be extended for another five years to provide for general maintenance of the elevated water tank.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of West Allis that it hereby authorizes and directs the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to enter into an extension agreement with SEH, for the purpose of providing general maintenance services consistent with the terms and conditions of the “Water Tank Maintenance Agreement” attached hereto for a fee not to exceed Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($75,000) as outlined in Exhibit B, funding to be provided by the City of West Allis Water Utility.
