Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to enter into an agreement with Milwaukee County to enter in to a joint contract to construct additional green infrastructure within the Menomonee River Parkway, between West Burleigh Street and West Watertown Plank Road, in an amount not to exceed $22,000.

Body
WHEREAS, Milwaukee County is currently in the process of reconstructing the Menomonee River Parkway, between West Burleigh Street and West Watertown Plank Road, that provides an opportunity for the installation of additional storm water quality practices; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis (the "City") recognizes the importance of the use of green infrastructure for managing storm water in a sustainable manner; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis is a co-permittee with Milwaukee County, City of Milwaukee, City of Wauwatosa, City of Greenfield, City of Brookfield, Village of Butler, Village of Elm Grove, Village of Menomonee Falls and the Village of West Milwaukee in watershed based group storm water permit; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis will be jointly funding the installation of additional storm water quality practices with the City of Milwaukee, the City of Wauwatosa and the City of Greenfield; and,

WHEREAS, in this action the City has fulfilled the watershed project requirement of our Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) Permit; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis will be credited for the Total Suspended Solids (TSS) removed by the green infrastructure installed with funds from the City; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is hereby directed and authorized to enter into an agreement, similar to the attached City of Milwaukee sample agreement, with Milwaukee County for the installation of additional green infrastructure in Menomonee River Parkway in the amount not to exceed $22,000.
