Title

Resolution relative to accepting the proposal of Microtek Systems, Inc. for furnishing a backup system and intrusion detection system for a total net sum of $28,374.00.

 

Body

WHEREAS, The Purchasing/Central Services Division has reported that it has received a proposal for furnishing a Unitrends Backup System and an IDP Intrusion Detection System for the Information Services Division of the City of West Allis, that the proposal received was reasonable; and,

 

WHEREAS, The Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Microtek Systems, Inc. be accepted; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Information Services Division has determined that this contract is inappropriate for competitive selection due the software being compatible with our existing computer system.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated November 12, 2004 submitted by Microtek Systems, Inc. for furnishing one (1) Unitrends DPU800 data protection software, hardware, warranty & installation for

$14,086.00 and one (1) Netscreen IDP Model 10 Intrusion/Prevention/ Detection system software, hardware, support & training  for $14,288.00 for the total net sum of $28,374.00 be and is hereby accepted.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing/Central Services Division be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid equipment.
