An Ordinance to Amend Subsection 12.20(3) of the Revised Municipal Code Relating to Allowing Certain "On-Call" Commercial Vehicles to be parked on Residential Property.
Body
The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:

PART I. Subsection 12.20(3) of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby amended to read:

12.20 OFF-STREET PARKING REGULATIONS FOR SINGLE AND TWO (2) FAMILY DWELLINGS.

(3) Types of vehicles. The following vehicles are permitted:

(a) Private passenger automobiles and non-commercial motor trucks having a maximum gross weight of not more than six thousand (6,000) pounds.

(b) One commercial truck or van having a maximum gross weight of six thousand (6,000) pounds, subject to the following:

1. Said commercial vehicle is used by an occupant of the dwelling for "on-call" purposes. As used in this section, "on-call" means that the dwelling occupant is required by his or her business or employer to be ready to respond to customer calls for service while off duty.

2. An annual permit fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) is paid to the Department of Building Inspection and Zoning.

3. Adequate proof that the dwelling occupant is required to have an "on-call" vehicle and that the vehicle to be parked on the residential property is in good working order and appearance so as not to create annoyance or blight in the neighborhood due to noise, odors or unsightly appearance.

4. Receipt of an annual permit from the Department of Building Inspection and Zoning, which must be prominently displayed on the vehicle at all times the vehicle is parked at the approved residence.

5. The permitted vehicle must be parked in a garage or upon a concrete driveway or slab that otherwise meets the criteria set forth in Subsection (4).

PART II. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
