Resolution relative to Special Use Permit to establish Urban Joe's Cafe, a proposed coffee shop/restaurant, with outdoor dining, to be located at 7028 W. Greenfield Ave.

WHEREAS, Pullum (Joe) Tairi and Amdi Tairi, duly filed with the City Administrative Officer-Clerk/Treasurer an application for a special use permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.40(2), and Sec. 12.16 of the Revised Municipal Code, to establish Urban Joe's Cafe, a proposed coffee shop/restaurant, with outdoor dining, to be located at 7028 W. Greenfield Ave.

WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on October 2, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:

1. The applicant, Pullum (Joe) Tairi and Amdi Tairi, owners, resides at 6950 S. Ash Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154.

2. The applicant owns the property at 7028 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:

All the land of the owner being located in the Southwest ¼ of Section 34, Township 7 North, Range 21 East, City of West Allis, Milwaukee County, State of Wisconsin, describes as follows:

Lots 19 and 20 in Block 1 of the Otjen Pullen And Shenner's Subdivision.

Tax Key No. 440-0231-000

Said land is located at 7028 W. Greenfield Ave.

3. The applicant is proposing to remodel the former 1 to 1 workout space within a portion of the multi-tenant building and establish a café with outdoor dining. The scope of work for this project is primarily tenant improvements consisting of interior alterations. The tenant is also the owner of the building. The property is zoned C-1, Central Business District and cafes, like restaurants, are permitted as a special use.
