Resolution relative to continuing City of West Allis membership in the Cities & Villages Mutual Insurance Company (CVMIC) and renewal of Liability Insurance for the years 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis became a member of the Cities & Villages Mutual Insurance Company (CVMIC) in late 1987; and
WHEREAS, the City Administrator has reported that she has received the membership commitment and Liability Renewal Package from CVMIC for 2016-2018; and
WHEREAS, the liability insurance coverage for said timeframe includes general, auto, excess, public officials, and law enforcement liability; and
WHEREAS, the City’s authorized officer will be required to select its SIR Option as presented in the renewal proposal; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City of West Allis accept CVMIC’s Liability Insurance Proposal dated June 30, 2015 and agrees to continue its membership in CVMIC for policy years 2016, 2017, and 2018 based on the premiums guaranteed by CVMIC for said policy years; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of CVMIC be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Liability Renewal Package submitted by Cities & Villages Mutual Insurance Company for the years 2016, 2017, and 2018 be and is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the property City Officials are hereby authorized and directed to sign any and all documents to execute this contract.
