Resolution to approve bid of Century Fence Company for pavement marking on West Greenfield Avenue from S. 70th Street to S. 76th Street in the City of West Allis, in the amount of $38,857.70.

WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works reports that it duly advertised for bids for the furnishing of certain materials and the performance of all work required for the improvements in a certain area as hereinafter described; that the bids received as shown on the attached bid report were reasonable and hereby recommends and deems it to be for the best interests of the City of West Allis that Century Fence Company for 2010 Project No. 7 be accepted.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis as follows:
 
1.      The bid of Century Fence Company for 2010 Project No. 7 for pavement marking in W. Greenfield Avenue from S. 70th Street to S. 76th Street (Plan File No. M-11) for the sum of  Thirty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty-Seven and 70/100 dollars ($38,857.70) be accepted, and the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to enter into contractual relations with said contractor for the performance of said work, in accordance with the prices submitted in their proposal and with the specifications of the City of West Allis, and that all other bids received for same be rejected.
 
2.      That said  improvements be completed with funding by Community Development Block Grant funds.
 
3.      That the amendment to the Community Development Block Grant Action Plan, B-08-MC-55-0011, increasing the budget of the Pedestrian Improvement Project from the initial approved budget of $35,000 by $7,000 from the CDBG Contingency fund for a budget total of $42,000.00.
