Resolution approving a Milwaukee/Waukesha County Consortium for Emergency Public Health Preparedness Intergovernmental Mutual Aid Pact (Sponsored by Ald. Trudell).

WHEREAS, a Consortium of health departments in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties has been formed to jointly plan and prepare for a coordinated response to a public health emergency.
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin has provided grant funds to the Consortium to support the planning and preparedness efforts with the City of Wauwatosa acting in the capacity of lead agency and fiscal agent.
WHEREAS, a requirement of the grant is to negotiate and sign a mutual aid agreement with other health departments within the Consortium.
WHEREAS, a mutual aid agreement has been drafted that mirrors similar agreements between the City of West Allis and neighboring police and fire departments.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that an agreement between the West Allis Health Department and all of the health departments in Milwaukee County and Waukesha County for the purposes of mutual aid, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto and made part hereof, is hereby approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of West Allis hereby authorizes and directs the City Health Commissioner to sign aforesaid Agreement.
