Resolution relative to approving an amendment to the Wisconsin Department of Commerce $350,000 Brownfields Grant

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis has filed an application for a Brownfields Initiative Grant with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce for environmental remediation activities at the property located at 6642 W. Washington Street (11-acre parcel); and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce has awarded the aforesaid Brownfields Initiative Grant in the sum of Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350,000) to the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Brownfields Initiative Grant was intended to support the redevelopment of the former Allis-Chalmers 6 and 7 Shop Buildings located at 6737 W. Washington St.; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of this amendment is to allow eligible expenses and matching funds to be incurred directly in the renovation cost of converting into office facilities the 6 and 7 Shop Buildings located at 6737 W. Washington St.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis, that Amendment One to the Brownfields Grant Contract be and is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Development is hereby authorized to execute and deliver the aforesaid contract, together with other appropriate communications and supporting documentation on behalf of the City to the Wisconsin Department of Commerce.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such non-substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the Agreement, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplate...
