Resolution amending the Community Development Block Grant Program to increase the budget for the Gateway/Walker Street Renovation Project and to create a Blight Removal/Demolition Project at 5032 W. Rogers St. (City Transfer Station)

Body

 

WHEREAS, the amendments to the Community Development Block Grant Program for years 1996-2004 are eligible projects as pertaining to HUD requirements; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide additional funding for the Gateway/Walker Street Renovation Project; and,

 

WHEREAS, the creation of a Blight Removal/Demolition Project at 5032 W. Rogers St. (City Transfer Station) will help improve the condition of the property and surrounding neighborhood by removing a blight influence; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Development has recommended approval of the aforesaid amendments.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that:

 

1.                     The budget for the Gateway/Walker Street Renovation Project be increased by $105,403 for a total budget of $217,066 with funds made available with a reduction of $105,403 from the Community Development Block Grant Contingency Fund; and,

 

2.                     A Blight Removal/Demolition Project at 5032 W. Rogers St. (City Transfer Station) be created with a budget not to exceed $300,000 with funds made available with a reduction of $300,000 from the 2002-2004 Housing Rehabilitation Program.
