WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works reports that it duly advertised for bids for the furnishing of certain materials and the performance of all work required for the improvements in a certain area as hereinafter described; that the bids received as shown on the attached bid report were reasonable and hereby recommends and deems it to be for the best interests of the City of West Allis that the bids of Riley Construction Co., Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 2003 Project Nos. 8 and 9 be accepted.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the bids of

 

Riley Construction Co., Inc. for 2003 Project Nos. 8 and 9:

 

Remodeling of the old Fire Station No. 1 to a new Fire Department Administration Building at 7332 W. National Avenue, and

 

Remodeling of Fire Station No. 3 at 10830 W. Lapham Street into a new modern facility

 

for the combined sum of Two Million Nine Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($2,935,800) outlined as follows:

 

General Construction Costs                                          $2,617,232

Contingency; Allowances for Owner Costs; and

Equipment and Appliances                                                              $318,568

 

be accepted, and the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to enter into contractual relations with said contractor for the performance of said work, in accordance with the prices submitted in their proposal and with the specifications of the City of West Allis, and that all other bids received for same be rejected; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That said improvements be installed with funding by We Energies Settlement Fund.
