Title

Resolution Approving the Emergency Repairs at the Water Reservoir payable to Rodney Hunt - Fontaine, Ltd. in an amount not to exceed $50,000.

Body

WHEREAS, a main pump at the water reservoir is out of service due to a broken 14 inch valve; and,

WHEREAS, this leaves only two currently working main pumps at the reservoir; and,

WHEREAS, the lead time to manufacture and deliver the new valve and lack of qualified installers make this work unsuitable to bid and would delay the repairs into late summer, which is unacceptable; and,

WHEREAS, Section 2.682, Emergency Purchase, of the City of West Allis Revised Municipal Code, empowers the Mayor to declare an emergency and to authorize any Department Head to purchase equipment, supplies or other services that are necessary because of that emergency; and,

WHEREAS, after consulting with and upon recommendation from the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, the Mayor approved the emergency proposal from Rodney Hunt-Fontaine, Ltd. and the installation thereof.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City West Allis confirms and authorizes the expenditure of funds for the emergency work.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is directed and authorized to use the appropriate budget account or accounts to pay for the work.
