Resolution authorizing and directing the City Engineer to enter into a state/municipal agreement for a highway improvement project with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for street lighting conversion along W. Lincoln Ave.

Body

WHEREAS, W. Lincoln Ave. from the east city limit to W. Beloit Rd. has high voltage series lighting that needs to be converted to low voltage parallel lighting; and,

WHEREAS, the WisDOT has notified the City that this project has been selected for redistribution funding to procure lighting equipment for this area; and,

WHEREAS, the State/Municipal Agreement includes procuring the equipment needed to convert the street lighting fixtures to LED.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the WisDOT for the Project (State ID 2995-08-00/90), a copy of the State/Municipal Agreement is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total eligible estimated design project cost is $698,600 of which $554,880 is the Federal share and the remaining $143,720 is the local municipal share.  It is understood that West Allis will pay to the State all costs incurred by the State in connection with this project, which exceed the Federal financing commitments, or are ineligible for Federal financing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That funds for this work are budgeted and available in the Capital Project Fund, and the services will be charged to Account Number 354-6051-517.31-01.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer forward a certified copy of this Resolution, together with the executed State/Municipal Agreement, to the office of the WisDOT and take whatever further action is required to initiate and effect the street lighting equipment procurement.
