Title
Resolution relative to amending a Professional Services Contract with R.A. Smith National, Inc. in the amount of $15,500 to prepare traffic signal plans for inclusion in the WisDOT Zoo Interchange Traffic Management Plan project scheduled for 2014.

Body
WHEREAS the Engineering Department, on March 8, 2013, entered into a contract with R.A Smith National, Inc. for the design of a traffic signal system; and,

WHEREAS, there exists a contract by and between the City of West Allis, Wisconsin (the “City”, a municipal corporation), by the Engineering Department of the City of West Allis, Wisconsin, (the “Department”) and R.A. Smith National, Inc. (the “Consultant”) to design a traffic signal system at W. National Avenue and S. 84th Street; and,

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Scope of Services to provide for additional services (the “Amendment”) to design the traffic signal system to Wisconsin Department of Transportation standards so that WisDOT will incorporate the plans for this traffic signal system into their construction contract in 2014; and,

WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has agreed to pay 100% of the cost for the materials and installation of the new traffic signal system including all new poles and conduit and a new controller and video detection equipment, if the plans meet their standards.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common council of the City of West Allis as follows:

1. That the Amendment, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, be and is hereby approved.

2. That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer or his designee be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the aforesaid Amendment on behalf of the City.

3. That the sum of Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($15,500) be and is hereby appropriated from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Zoo interchange Traffic Mitigation Funds being provided to the City of West Allis to pay the liabi...
