Resolution relative to determination of Special Use Permit for conversion of an existing mixed-use (residential-commercial use) building to multi-family at 6531 W. Lincoln Ave.

WHEREAS, Giuseppe Militello, property owner, duly filed with the City Administrative Officer-Clerk/Treasurer an application for a Special Use Permit; pursuant to Sec. 12.41(2) and Sec. 12.16 of the Revised Municipal Code, for a multi-family housing complex; and,

WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was by the Common Council on April 1, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Common Council Chamber to consider the application; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:

1. The applicant, Giuseppe Militello, property owner, resides at 3285 Dartmouth Dr. Brookfield, WI 53005.

2. The applicant, Giuseppe Militello, owns the property at 6531 W. Lincoln Ave., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:

All that land of the owner being located in the Northeast ΒΌ of Section 10, Township 6 North, Range 21 East, City of West Allis, Milwaukee County, State of Wisconsin describes as follows:

Lots 5 and 6, in Block 2 of the Hinkley Hones Subdivision.

Said land being located at 2304 S. 66 St and 6531 W. Lincoln Ave.

Tax Key Number: 490-0255-001.

3. The proposal consists of the conversion of a 10,300 SF 3-story mixed-use building with 6 residential apartments and 3,000 SF commercial office space to all residential. The proposal is to convert the commercial office space into 6 additional market rate apartments, for a total of 12 residential, one and two-bedroom apartments that are marketed to seniors. The property includes an off-street parking area for approximately 8 vehicles.
