Title
Resolution relative to accepting the sole source proposal of SunGard Public Sector for providing Application Services Provider (ASP) service for a total net sum of $135,000.

Body
WHEREAS, The Purchasing/Central Services Division has reported that it has received a proposal for Application Services Provider (ASP) service to the Information Technology Division of the City of West Allis; and,

WHEREAS, The Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of SunGard Public Sector be accepted; and,

WHEREAS, SunGard Public Sector offers an "Application Services Provider" (ASP) service in which they would host our SunGard software at their data center and we would access it via a secure internet connection; and,

WHEREAS, we currently pay approximately $120,000 per year in support fees for the current configuration wherein the City hosts the software on its own iSeries server; and,

WHEREAS, the City would pay an additional $15,000 per year to SunGard Public Sector for them to host the software remotely, rather than the City hosting the software locally in our IT data center at City Hall.

WHEREAS, the IT Division of the Department of Administration & Finance has determined that this contract is inappropriate for competitive selection because SunGard Public Sector can provide the necessary support for our integrated software package that they created and maintain.  The ASP option will also provide a Disaster Recovery backup for the critical city functions supported by the SunGard software.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal submitted by SunGard Public Sector for providing ASP Services for the total net sum of $135,000 be and is hereby accepted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funding will come from the IT General Budget and the Water, Sewer, Storm Utility and CDBG/Voucher funds that will be cost allocated.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing/Central Services Division be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid services.
